Product Description
The 5 stage continuous conveying dryer is a versatile equipment used for the drying of the produces like onion, garlic, turmeric, ginger, carrot, cabbage, chilies and other vegetable products on continues basis.
There are five belts with the individual drives which carry the material are arranged in vertical plane.
Heating coils for heating are provided for the precise control of the temperature. The hot air passes through the permeable bed of the material for effective drying.
The fresh material is fed on the top belt which carries it to the end and from there it is transferred on the belt underneath the first one, similarly it is transferred on all the other belts till it reaches the bottom belt.
The rising air from the bottom is heated to the desired temperature to effectively dry the product. The draft is induced by the exhauster fans to drive the air upwardly.
The final exhaust of the air from the dryer is by the fans on the top of the dryer. This is the moist air which is released from the dryer.

FAQs of Onion Dehydration Plant:
Q: How does the onion dehydration plant achieve up to 95% moisture reduction in onions?
A: The plant uses a controlled hot air drying process, with adjustable operating temperatures from 50C to 120C. The conveyor belts evenly distribute thinly sliced onions (0.58 mm), allowing uniform exposure. Precise temperature and airflow control, combined with continuous movement, optimizes moisture removal while preserving flavor and color.
Q: What types of fuel can be used to operate the dehydration plant?
A: The plant supports steam, gas, diesel, or electric heating options. This enables businesses to select the most cost-effective and available energy source for their facility, ensuring flexibility in various industrial environments.
Q: When is it advisable to opt for a turnkey installation?
A: Turnkey installation is recommended when you need a fully integrated, ready-to-operate solution. Our team handles everything from design to commissioning, minimizing downtime and ensuring all systemsincluding the PLC-based controls and CIP cleaningwork seamlessly upon startup.
Q: Where can the onion dehydration plant be installed and operated?
A: The plant is designed for industrial usage in food processing facilities, export-oriented units, or agricultural clusters. Its modular length (23-45 ft), width, and height options, along with adjustable capacity (200-2000 kg/hr), make it suitable for varied floor plans in manufacturing environments across India and overseas.
Q: What is the process for cleaning and maintaining the plant?
A: An integrated Clean-In-Place (CIP) system automates the internal cleaning process, ensuring fast, thorough sanitation of stainless steel components. Routine maintenance is simplified by easy-access panels and the plants robust, corrosion-resistant design.
Q: How does the PLC-based touchscreen control benefit plant operation?
A: The advanced PLC with a touchscreen interface allows precise programming of production parameters, real-time monitoring, fault diagnostics, and effortless recipe adjustments. This leads to increased operational efficiency, reduced manual oversight, and consistent product quality.
Q: What are the main benefits of using this onion dehydration plant for industrial users?
A: The system offers high throughput (up to 1.8 tons/hr), consistent quality, minimal labor requirements, low operating noise (<70 dB), and versatile product outputs (flakes, powders, granules). Its automatic, energy-efficient operation ensures optimal productivity and cost savings for large-scale processors.
